Blessing of the Quilts

May 18th, 9:00 am

Join us as we have a special blessing of the quilts made by our Mission Sewers. Each year the group sends out several boxes of quilts to Lutheran Relief. The quilts will be displayed on the pews of the church for everyone to see and bless with prayer during the service. Also, they will be giving a quilt to each of the High School graduates of Gethsemane. .

Senior Sunday

May 18th, 9:00 am

We will be honoring our seniors during the worship service. Please join us and wish them luck in their new adventures. There will be a special celebration for the graduates during Coffee An’ after worship in the Fellowship Hall.

First Communion Class

There will be a First Communion class on Sunday, May 4 following the spring fling (approx. 11:30). It will include grades 1-3 if you feel your child is ready for communion. 

Please contact Bunny at the church office to sign up. Parents need to attend as well

Fellowship Team

April showers bring May flowers! Fellowship wants to help you get in the mood for gardening. May 4th after church join us for fellowship, games and a plant auction. Of course, trivia is likely to happen as well! See you May 4th! 

We WANT Our Youth to Attend Camp!

Gethsemane‘s Mission Endowment Team has approved a plan to fully cover the cost of our youth (and one friend) attending Bible Camp with Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry (VLM) out of the Roy Carlson Youth Ministry Fund.

College Scholarships

Once again scholarships will be offered through the Mission Endowment Fund to all GELC members who are high school seniors and those who will be post-secondary students in the 2024-2025 school year. The amount of each scholarship will be $2,000.

The deadline for returning the scholarship form to the church office MUST BE Sunday, May 4. Stop by or call the church office to get the form. We will also have the forms available on the Youth Bulletin Board next to the Youth Room

Updates from Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry

Rally your Congregation! Bring your family, rally your congregation, or come alone, we need your help to get Camp Vermilion ready for the summer! In just a couple of months our camp will be bustling with campers, but we’ve got a lot of work to do to get it ready first

LIFT - Living in Faith Together

Living in Faith Together, the shared faith formation program between Gethsemane, Our Savior's, and Messiah, resumed April 23, at Gethsemane.  

Wednesday Evening Schedule:

6:00 pm - Dinner

6:30 pm - Groups & Confirmation Class

7:45 pm - Worship

Our Jr. High youth group (4-6 grade) Confirmation (7-9 grade), and Sr. High youth group (post-confirmation youth) will be gathering at Gethsemane for 5 weeks during April and May. We ask for your prayers as we finish out our year. Our C

All Women of Gethsemane Get Together

On Thursday, May 22nd, at 5:30 pm in the Youth Room, we are having a casual get together just to “hang out” with other gals, enjoy visiting, relax, and have some laughs. 

We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month. No commitments, just bring yourself and your own beverage. Please come - we’ll have a fun time! Hope to see you there!
