Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church Leadership
Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and discerning God's will for our church. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and church staff.
Rev. Amy Janssen
Pastor
Pastor Amy was called to serve as Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church's Pastor on June 15, 2020 and she was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on July 18, 2020. Prior to that, she served as a pastoral intern at Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
The attributes that best describe Pastor Amy are strong preaching, collaborative leadership, and radical hospitality. Pastor Amy enjoys visiting members in their homes and in nursing facilities, teaching and encouraging young people in their faith, and leading worship.
Some of Pastor Amy's hobbies outside of the church include going to the movies, watching TV, reading historical fiction, attending community events, and spending time with friends.
Pastor Amy graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN in May 2020 with a Master of Divinity degree. Before that, Pastor Amy lived in Denver, Colorado, where she taught Adult Basic Education and GED preparation at a family resource center. Her undergraduate degree was in Music Education and was earned at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.
